I bought one at Linens and Things, and found to be a great thing to have in my bedroom closet for the occasional need to get to the top of the highest shelf. And I bought another for the kitchen, if you're even 5'3, the high cabinet shelves are a little high, and this makes it safer to be taking things down and putting things up. But it is also not so high that you feel nervous being on it.I'm giving at least three as Christmas gifts. Not the most exciting thing, but it's something that will get used and not exchanged! I have accidently run over the step stool 4 times and while that is probably not recommended, it has passed the test. The weight of the vehicle flattened the stool and caused it to come apart at the joints. However, I was able to easily put it back together and it works like new--it just has a few tire marks on it now.
