Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Great battery, carry a spare! Comment: My daughter has a Coolpix s52, and the original battery works great. Problem is, it lasts so long, it's easy to forget to charge it before heading out for a day of picture-taking, and I certainly don't like charging a half-charged battery. Bought a spare, problem solved. The spare holds a charge well and we swap back and forth when the primary battery poops out. It's true, generic batteries are cheaper, and I wish the Nikon battery wasn't so pricey, but still would buy it every time rather than risk it. Knock-off batteries provided an equal amount of pictures per charge Customer Rating: Summary: Spare Battery ALWAYS a good idea Comment: I decided with the purchase of my Nikon Coolpix S51, that having the extra battery was a great idea. I have always carried spare AA with my old camera but since this camera uses a special battery, I needed one and I have certainly not be sorry. The battery life is pretty long but you never want to be without on vacation and miss that perfect shot! I was hesitant to use an aftermarket brand, so I shopped around for a good price on real Nikon batteries from a vendor I trust: Amazon/Adorama.
